Te Whanganui-o-Hei Marine Reserve
Te Whanganui-o-hei (Cathedral Cove) marine reserve is a protected area where recreational and commercial fishing is prohibited.
The marine ecosystem has flourished since it’s protection in 1992, and is now a thriving home to a range of marine plants and animals, taonga (treasure) protected now and for future generations.
Donations from every marine reserve style tee go towards The Friends of Te Whanganui-o-Hei Marine Reserve Trust, who facilitate the Experience Marine Reserves (EMR) program, teaching our Tamariki about marine life, conservation, and biodiversity.
Thanks to donations and grants, this program is delivered free to schools across New Zealand.
